Cozy up this winter with these warm cocktail recipes.

Moonshine hot chocolate

  • 2 cups milk
  • 3 tbs sugar
  • 1 ½ tbs cocoa powder
  • 1 oz Ole Smoky Mountain Java Tennessee Moonshine Cream

Mix the milk, sugar, and cocoa powder in a saucepan and warm.

Allow to chill slightly, then top with the moonshine cream.

Hot Buttered Rum

Spiced butter ingredients:

  • 6 tbs salted butter
  • 3 tbs brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp allspice

Cocktail ingredients:

  • 1 ½ tbs spiced butter
  • 2 oz Ron Zacapa rum
  • 6 oz boiling water
  • Whipped cream topping (optional)

Flatten butter with a rolling pin.

Add in brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Incorporate.

Add 1 ½ tsp of spiced butter to each glass.

Add rum and boiling water, then combine.

Top with whipped cream and enjoy!

Boozy apple cider

  • Whole cloves
  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Whole allspice
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp apple butter
  • 2 oz Bulleit bourbon
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • Apple slices

Add butter and spices to a pot and heat on low until butter is melted and spices become fragrant. About 5 minutes.

Add apple and two tablespoons of apple butter and continue to heat on low for another 5 minutes.

Add cider and increase heat to medium high. Heat until it reaches desired temperature.

Add bourbon and cinnamon sticks to a mug and top with warm cider.

Mulled wine

  • Red wine
  • Oranges (at least one)
  • Cinnamon sticks
  • Ground cinnamon
  • Whole cloves
  • Star anise
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup or honey
  • 1 cup of Bulleit bourbon

Cut your oranges into slices. Place one in a saucepan. Set any additional oranges aside for garnish later.

Combine with the rest of your ingredients in a saucepan over medium-high heat.

Bring to a simmer and reduce heat to low, cover, and let simmer for at least 15 minutes. Do not allow it to come to a boil.

Strain before drinking if you’re not a fan of “things” in your drinks.

Serve warm in mugs and garnish with any remaining orange slices.

Hot toddy

  • ¾ cup water
  • 1 ½ ounces whiskey
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons honey, to taste
  • 2 to 3 teaspoons lemon juice, to taste
  • 1 lemon round
  • 1 cinnamon stick (optional, for garnish)

In a teapot or saucepan, bring the water to a simmer. Pour the hot water into a mug.

Add the whiskey, 2 teaspoons honey and 2 teaspoon lemon juice. Stir until the honey has disappeared into the hot water. Taste, and add 1 teaspoon honey for more sweetness, and/or 1 teaspoon more lemon juice for more zing.

Garnish with a lemon round and cinnamon stick (if using). Enjoy!

Red wine hot chocolate

  • 1 cup milk
  • ½ cup chocolate chunks
  • ¾ cup Bota Box Cabernet
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • Cocoa powder (optional)
  • Marshmallows (optional)
  • Whipped cream (optional)

Heat milk in a pot on medium heat. Let simmer.

Add chocolate chunks and stir until smooth.

Remove from heat and add red wine and vanilla extract. Stir.

Top with optional cocoa powder, marshmallows, and/or whipped cream.
